Unlock Piano – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Unlock Piano!
These Terms & Conditions outline how our lessons, payments, and equipment usage work.
By booking a lesson or continuing lessons, you agree to the following terms.
1. Lesson Structure
- Lessons are held weekly in your home, available in 45-minute or 60-minute durations.
- All lessons are 1-on-1 with an Unlock Piano teacher.
- Your teacher will bring and set up a full-size 88-key electric piano for use during your lessons and practice.
- All lessons are billed fortnightly (see Section 2 for pricing).
2. Payments & Plans
Lesson Plans
We offer two lesson duration options:
- 45-minute lessons: $149 per fortnight
- 60-minute lessons: $194 per fortnight
Payment Structure
- First payment: $298 (45min) or $388 (60min) — covers the first two fortnights.
- Ongoing billing: $149 or $194 per fortnight, billed automatically.
- You'll always be 2–4 weeks in advance of lessons.
Bond
- A $50 bond is collected with your first payment.
- It is fully refundable once lessons end and the piano is returned in working condition.
- Deductions may apply for damage or missing accessories.
3. Cancellations & Pausing
Pausing Lessons
- You may pause anytime with at least 7 days' notice.
- You can pause for up to 2 weeks and keep your piano.
- For longer pauses, your teacher will collect the piano at your last lesson before the break.
Cancelling Lessons
- To cancel completely, simply use your remaining paid lessons.
- Lessons and piano use end once your prepaid period concludes.
- If you wish to restart later, you can rejoin subject to availability.
4. Missed or Rescheduled Lessons
- Cancel at least 24 hours before a lesson to receive a make-up credit.
- Same-day cancellations or no-shows are counted as a used lesson.
- Make-ups can be arranged when your teacher has availability within the same term or billing cycle.
5. Equipment Care
- The provided electric piano remains the property of Unlock Piano.
- Students are responsible for reasonable care of the piano and accessories (stand, power supply, etc.).
- Damage or loss beyond normal wear may result in partial bond deductions.
- Unlock Piano handles all delivery, setup, and collection logistics.
6. Payments & Failed Charges
- Payments are handled via secure direct debit or card billing.
- If a payment fails, we'll notify you by email or SMS.
- Lessons and piano use may be paused after 7 days of non-payment until payment clears.
7. Teacher Conduct & Safety
- All Unlock Piano teachers hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- We take child safety seriously — if you ever have concerns, contact us immediately.
- Teachers are expected to act professionally and respect your home environment.
8. Liability
- Unlock Piano is not liable for injury, loss, or damage resulting from misuse of equipment or failure to follow reasonable safety guidance during lessons.
- Students participate at their own risk.
9. Privacy
- Your personal information is used only for scheduling, payments, and lesson coordination.
- We do not share your information with third parties without consent.
- You can request data deletion at any time.
10. Updates to Terms
- These terms may be updated occasionally to reflect operational changes.
- The latest version will always be available at unlockpiano.com.au/terms.
